New Farmland President Named

Smithfield Foods has named Michael Brown president/COO of its Farmland Foods unit. Brown previously served as president of Armour-Eckrich for the past two years, part of his nearly 30 years in the food industry.

“Mike is a tremendous asset to this organization and I am confident that his experience will allow the company to achieve its top objectives of margin expansion and brand growth,” says George Richter, president/COO of Smithfield's Pork Group, to whom Brown will report.
