NarrativeAustin ISD settled into complying with the new meal regs last year with little difficulty as it had already incorporated most of the components in previous years. The first district in the state to ban soft drinks from a la carte, it has bolstered the attraction of its full meals with made-to-order sandwich and salad options. The largest district high school has also added three kiosk stations to help take pressure off the fixed stations during the lunch rush.
