NarrativePalm Beach County Schools is expanding its free breakfast program to all students (participation was up 13% last year), an initiative being aggressively promoted with a Power Up With Breakfast campaign. Most sites are prep-and-serve kitchens and the district is also updating its high school cafeterias to resemble mall food courts with branded stations and commercial style offerings that still meet federal school meal regulations. At the first site, the initiative produced a 22% participation increase at lunch and 10% at breakfast.
