Treat America Food Services 2012

Ranking #22

Treat America acquired Bistro Kids, a healthy meal and nutrition education service to private schools, a year ago as part of its initiative to increase an emphasis on local and fresh foods. It also instilled “Meatless Mondays” to better emphasize local fruits and vegetables on those days, and holds farmers markets in its units during the summer for the same purpose—to boost local products.

The company also has rolled out a fresh-never-frozen burger program and is developing concepts based on global foods and ‘superfoods’ for its education accounts.
