App Turns iPad Into Cash Register

The mobile payment vendor Square has introduced an app that, combined with a quarter-sized reader, turns an Apple iPad into a POS unit that accepts credit card as well as cash payments. The device potentially enables mobile and out-of-the-way retail locations to process transactions quickly and inexpensively.
