UM-Flint to Start Dining Program

The University of Michigan at Flint will initiate an on-campus dining program to complement new student housing and has chosen Sodexho as the provider. The University's board of regents recently approved an initiative that will require students living in the new residence hall to purchase a $1,300 a semester meal plan.

Though details of the new on-campus dining facilities have yet to be finalized, they are expected to include an all-you-can-eat cafeteria with pizza and salad bars and a stir fry station as well as vegan and vegetarian options.

The location will be in a 2,240-sq.-ft. area on the third floor of the University Center now used as meeting space. It had been the location of a dining center back in the early 1990s and still has a full kitchen. The board cafeteria will be complemented by two new retail dining outlets: Grill 155 and Stacks Deli.
