Fruits
Pears. Try pear chutney over pork, pear pancakes, or a pear, mint and brie salad.
Grapefruit. Not just for breakfast anymore, try a grapefruit and quinoa salad, candied grapefruit peels, or a grapefruit vinaigrette.
Limes. Try baked yams (also in season!) with limes and honey, pistachio lime cookies, or try black bean and lime chili.
Vegetables
Brussels Sprouts. Serve a gratin of Brussels sprouts
instead of potatoes; try a Brussels spouts hash or toss
sautéed sprouts with a vinaigrette, hard boiled eggs and
onions.
Carrots. Instead of carrot cake, try cinnamon and carrot muffins or glazed carrots and goat cheese.
Collards. Instead of kale, try collards and tomatoes
