A group of Indiana State University business students have opened Executive Express Café on the first floor of the Statesman Towers, home of the school’s Donald W. Scott College of Business, reports the Indiana Statesman. The café is owned by the Sycamore Business Advisors, a strategic planning and consulting business managed by students enrolled in the College of Business’ capstone Business 401 course, and was funded by a loan from ISU President Daniel J. Bradley. It is being supported by Sodexo, the school’s dining service provider, as part of the campus retail dining mix.
Business 401: Senior Business Experience is the capstone strategy course for business majors at ISU and is part of the core curriculum of courses. Various crews from among the students handle different aspects of the business, including leadership, organization, labor, marketing and facilities. It will be managed in coming years by successive Business 401 classes. The loan from President Bradley is expected to be repaid within four years.
