Smith and Vance Elementary Schools in the New Britain (CT) School District recently partnered with Whitsons School Nutrition to host a Farm Stand showcasing local fresh produce as part of the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Smith highlighted products from the parsley family (carrots, celery, parsnips and parsley) while Vance featured local butternut and acorn squash. Each ended up serving around 350 samples.
