Pat Higgins, director of dining services at the University of Maryland, will be retiring at the end of the school year, capping a 46-year career at Maryland, the last dozen as director. She began as an entry-level dining services manager after graduating from the university with a degree in dietetics and a short stint with Stouffer’s Foods.
