After a long and heroic battle with cancer, Don Marsh, former president of the American Society for Healthcare Food Service Administrators (ASHFSA) passed away December 11th.
A longtime supporter of programs to raise the professionalism of operators in healthcare foodservice, Marsh was known as a generous contributor of personal time and resources to this goal.
"Those of us who had the great privilege to work with Don will miss his wisdom, his generosity of spirit, his wry sense of humor, and his dedication to his colleagues and to our profession," says current ASHFSA President Regina Toomey Bueno, director of food, nutrition and transportation at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ. "Though we mourn, we are so very lucky to have known him. He was truly a trailblazer in healthcare foodservice, a mentor to many and a friend to ASHFSA."
