AHF Honors Members at Inaugural National Conference
The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) presented awards in seven categories during its annual conference in Austin, TX, last week. The winners included:
Deanne Carlisle of Portland (OR) Medical Ctr. and Bruce Thomas of Geisinger Health System, Danville, PA (Lifetime Achievement Award). Both are past presidents and board members of AHF. The Lifetime Achievement Award is AHF’s highest award and is given to the individuals who best exemplify the leadership and spirit of legacy organization founders Jacques Bloch and Angelo Gagliano.
Marie Nelson (Making a Difference Award). The Making a Difference Award is given in honor of John Cabot to recognize exceptional business and media partners.
Mark Eggleston of Overlake Hospital, Bellevue, WA (Exemplary Award). The Exemplary recognizes a member who best reflects operational excellence and/or contributions to regional, local chapters or local meetings.
Timothy Bauman of Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green, OH (Publication Award). The Publication Award is given to the individual who best exemplifies the memory of James C. Rose’s leadership and contributions in publication and is given to a member who writes a widely accepted and distributed document that is recognized by a noted source.
Cedric Junearick, executive chef at Huntsville (AL) Hospital (Future Horizons Award). The Future Horizons Award is reserved for up to three operator members who have participated in the foodservice industry for five years or less, are new to management, and demonstrate desire for professional growth through hospital and community involvement.
Khaleed Khan of Alberta Health Services, Edmonton, AL; Annemarie Price of Martinsburg (WV) VAMC; and Dan Henroid of the University of California San Francisco Medical Center (Spotlight Award). The Spotlight Award is given to operator members who have enhanced their operations through technology, program development, implementation, innovation, and/or creative use of financial management.
Robert Darrah of Legacy Retirement Communities, Lincoln, NE, and Nancy Geffre of USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD (Partnership in Leadership Award). The Partnership in Leadership Award recognizes up to three operator member facilities that demonstrate a strong commitment to self-operation and who support the foodservice department leader.
