UNT Opens All-Vegan Dining Hall
Said to be nation's first such all-you-care-to-eat board dining facility.
UNT’s Mean Greens dining hall is now all-vegan and all-you-care-to-eat.
The University of North Texas is converting its Mean Greens cafeteria into an exclusively vegan dining outlet. Offerings will include vegan pizza, made-to-order paninis, protein salads (using beans, nuts and seeds), vegan desserts and a variety of gluten-free options. It will be part of the campus meal plan as an all-you-care-to-eat facility.
Mean Greens originally opened as a newly renovated facility in 2006 with an all-healthy, all-the-time menu with portion-controlled entrees and an emphasis on fresh produce, grains and meatless dishes.
