Virginia Tech plans to reorganize the three campus departments that support student life in the wake of the departures of two key executives, reports the Collegiate Times. The school plans to combine the housing and residence life departments into a single entity under a new director, while dining will become a separate department, also under a new director. Both of those positions have yet to be filled.

The former director of housing & dining services, Rick Johnson, had left the school a few months ago to become assistant director of housing & dining at Duke University, while Robert Coffey, who was senior associate director of housing & dining, joined the University of South Carolina as resident district manager for management company Sodexo. The school promoted Associate Director of Dining Services Ted Faulkner to senior director, replacing Coffey.

Virginia Tech has one of the nation's model campus dining programs, with nearly 9,000 off-campus students choosing to purchase voluntary meal plans.
