Hampton (VA) Schools will offer a hot vegetarian option in its school cafeterias each day, reports the Newport News Daily Press. The choices will include meatless burritos, vegetable calzones, stuffed pasta shells with marinara sauce and beans with rice. Previously, meatless options were only available by request. Going forward, a vegetarian burger will be available by request for vegan students when the new menu debuts since some of the vegetarian selections are not vegan. The vegetarian menu could be expanded if the move proves popular.
