UNT to Open All-Vegan Dining Hall

The University of North Texas is converting its Mean Greens cafeteria into an exclusively vegan dining outlet. Offerings will include vegan pizza, made-to-order paninis, protein salad (using beans, nuts and seeds), vegan desserts and a variety of gluten-free options. It will be part of the camps meal plan as an all-you-care-to-eat facility.

Mean Greens originally opened in 2006 as a newly renovated facility that featured an all-healthy, all-the-time menu with portion-controlled entrees and an emphasis on fresh produce, grains and meatless dishes. It won a Food Management Best Concept Award the following year in the Best Wellness Initiative category.
