The University of North Carolina Dining Services says it had reached its goal of offering 20 percent its food from sustainable sources in its dining halls last September, eight years ahead of its target date, reports the Daily Tar Heel campus paper. The department had signed up to participate in the Real Food Challenge initiative, which set the criteria for what qualifies as sustainable.
