Students at Tulane University will be able to use their meal plans at select off-campus locations next fall as part of a meal plan overhaul planned by the school, reports the Hullabaloo campus paper. Dining Services is looking at around two dozen venues, which will be pared to 15 with input from the Dining Services Student Advisory Board.
The changes include eliminating the current Wave Bucks cash option in favor of meal plans that incorporate four elements: a set of weekly board meals at the Bruff Dining Hall, additional Bruff meals that can be used anytime during a semester, dining dollars for on-campus use and dining dollars for use in the off-campus venues. Plans for freshmen and sophomores would cost $2,275, a 4.5 percent increase over the most expensive current plan, while plans for juniors and seniors would range from $1,450 to $1,650.
