Toong Promoted at UMass

Normal0011086165175611.773000Ken Toong has been promoted to executive director of auxiliary enterprises at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, effective August 1. Toong, who has served as director of dining services at the school since 1998, now takes on a position in which he will oversee the Campus Center hotel, conference services, the book store, the Campus Center/Student Union complex, UMass Trademark and Licensing and the warehouse, in addition to UMass Dining Services. The management volume of around $80 million makes it one of the largest university auxiliary operations in the country. Toong says he will continue to be involved in the Chef Culinary Conference held annually at UMass each summer, though probably in a more administrative role than before.
