An in-seat ordering/delivery service debuted this fall at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium, the College Park home of the University of Maryland Terrapins. The product of an entrepreneurial startup by a couple of UM alums, First Down Mobile LLC allows fans to order food from concession stands and have it hand delivered to their seats during the quarter they designate. A premium service allows fans to text when they are ready for their food and drink. The service is available on an annual basis only, with customers signing up for standard service for $30 for the season and $50 for the premium service. That effectively limits the service to season ticket holders. First Down Mobile has negotiated an exclusive agreement with the university and is looking to expand to other schools as well.
