Some 50 hospitals across Michigan have signed on to a voluntary Healthy Food Hospitals initiative developed by the Michigan Health & Hospital Association to address healthy eating and weight management issues, reports AnnArbor.com. Signatory hospitals commit to buying at least 20 percent Michigan-grown/produced products by 2020, provide nutrition information on menu items and boost the nutritional content of offerings by 2013.
