Levy Acquires United Center Contract

Levy Restaurants has signed an agreement to purchase the concessions/catering contract at Chicago’s United Center from Bismarck Enterprises, Inc. The sale is scheduled to close after the Chicago Blackhawks finish their 2008-09 National Hockey League season. The Blackhawks, along with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, are the two prime tenants at the United Center.

Bismarck has managed concessions and catering at the United Center since it opened in 1994. The company was founded by current CEO Peter Wirtz, brother of Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz, who is also co-owner of the United Center. Levy, based in Chicago, also operates concessions at the city’s two major league ballparks (U.S. Cellular Field and Wrigley Field) and at its McCormick Place Convention Center as well as numerous other arenas, stadiums, ballparks and entertainment complexes across the country.
