Healthy Fare Leads to Big Losses in Ontario's Schools

A healthy food initiative has produced participation drops of as much as 80 percent at some school sites in Ontario, Canada, reports canada.com. The Ontario (Canada) Ministry of Education had enacted a policy this fall that requires publicly funded school districts to offer only foods meeting the province's nutrition standards, which has resulted in the removal of popular items like deep-fried foods, chocolate bars and hot dogs.
