Camden FSD Resigns Following Audit Controversy

The foodservice director of the Camden (NJ) school district has resigned following a review that charged his department lost $1.5 million to mismanagement and failed to collect another $500,000, reports the Camden Courier-Post. The board of education accepted the resignation of Tony Robinson with an undisclosed settlement, effective immediately. He had been suspended with pay in July after the analysis by outside auditors that found the irregularities and recommended new leadership. The department, expected to be self-sustaining, has had to be subsidized by the district to the tune of $4.7 million in fiscal 2007 and $3.3 million in fiscal 2008.
