California's GM Food Referendum Could Set National Policy

A California referendum this November on genetically modified foods could end up setting labeling policy for the whole nation

This November, California voters will be asked to weigh in on the labeling of genetically modified foods in a ballot initiative that could end up setting labeling policy for the whole country, according to an analysis in the Guardian. If the initiative passes, it will make the Golden State the first to have a GM labeling requirement, and given the state's size, it could force food manufacturers to default to its labeling mandate nationwide to avoid having to produce separate packaging language for the same products in different markets.

With all the local, state & national crises now in play, this is the dumbest legistative issue to hit the press. another way to divert attention form some of the reall issues that exist.
