Sodexo, Inc., is the North American division of a Paris-based, world-wide contract management company that provides a variety of support services to businesses, institutions and public entities in 80 countries with almost $23 billion in total revenues. The North American division generated almost 39% of that total.
Organic growth in domestic B&I increased to 7.2% reflecting the success of integrated services offers for clients such as the International Monetary Fund and Nokia. New client deals include contracts with Boeing, Harley Davidson and Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts in Florida.
In Health Care/Seniors, revenues contracted by 0.1% due to modest business development the previous year and the loss of a major contract. The year did see some major new client contracts, among them ManorCare, HCA East Florida, LA County, Oschner, University of Arizona Medical Ctr., Wesley Medical Ctr. and CHI Kentucky.
Organic growth in Education was 2.1% as client retentional remained at an impressive 98%, though revenues were pressured by a declne in K-12 participation, due probably to the impact of the new HHFKA regs, and by a slowing in university enrollments. New Education contracts in the past year included Brandeis University, University of Michigan-Dearborn, Emerson College and Bayonne (NJ) SD.
Major recent initiatives include the new, cross-segment Mindful health/wellness program, the In My Kitchen culinary series featuring Sodexo and celebrity chefs, and cross-divisional promotions that seek to liven up recipes with themes such as Art of Summer, Close to Home and “Taste of....”
