Compass North America is a division of London-based Compass Group PLC and accounted for 47% of the parent company’s revenues in fiscal 2013.
Revenue growth was driven by new business wins, including a contribution of just over 2% from the Ascension Health and Texas A&M contracts. Other major recent contract wins included LinkedIn Corp., Aegon USA and Sun Life Financial in B&I.; Butterfield Trail Village and Waterbury (CT) Hospital in Healthcare; MIT, Johns Hopkins University and Ryerson University in Canada in the Education segment; and the Portland Trail Blazers and the University of Wisconsin in Sports/Leisure.
At the beginning of this year, Compass joined the Pro*Act Greener Fields Together sustainability and local produce procurement initiative. Early last year it formed an alliance with MyFitnesspal to integrate its menus with the healthy living/fitness tracking program to help customers using its app to track their food intake and exercise levels.
The Morrison and Crothall healthcare units recently unveiled new logos and word marks as part of a combined brand refresh. That effort emphasizes their close alignment and integrated approach to providing healthcare clients with specialized food, nutrition and support services.
In 2013, the Canteen vending division named Peter Fetherston as its CEO while former Levy Restaurants COO Rhonna Cass was named president of the Chartwells School Dining Services unit.
