Centerplate operates foodservice for nine NFL teams, three Major League Baseball teams, two National Hockey League teams, three Major League Soccer and one National Basketball Association teams, as well as two-dozen minor league teams and more than 30 colleges.
This fall it will debut as the food and beverage services provider for Levi’s Stadium, the new home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers currently under construction in Santa Clara. Levi’s will host Super Bowl 50 in 2016, as well as college football’s annual Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.
Super Bowl 50.will be Centerplate’s 13th along with 20 World Series and 15 U.S. presidential balls. Just in the past year it has hosted the NFL Pro Bowl, BCS Championship Game, the Belmont Stakes, the South Beach Wine & Food Show, Art Basel Miami, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Dinner and the North American International Auto Show.
Other initiatives over the past year include a corporate rebrand, a partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue to create a bespoke restaurant concept for the retailer’s flagship stores for launch this year, the addition of a sponsorship sales executive and the launch of the Centerplate Spark and new online talent development modules.
.On the culinary front, recent initiatives include a partnership with John Besh at New Orleans Arena, the additions of he Smokehouse and Metro Deli at Qualcomm Stadium and the expansion of the SnackSmart gluten-free snack boxes to go program.
Centerplate also debuted operations at the Music City Center and Yakima Convention Center, launched Edgar’s Cantina at Safeco Field and opened a new kitchen and ballroom at Cobo Center.
