Candy Apples Turn 100
One day back in 1908, veteran candy maker William W. Kolb leaned over a bubbling bright red batch of cinnamon candy for Christmastime and dipped some apples into it. He put the new treats in the windows of his New Jersey candy shop and quickly sold the first batch for 5 cents each.
