Aramark Makes NYC Catering Bid
Initiative will compete with street caterers for business functions.
Aramark plans to launch a corporate catering service called 1st and Fresh in new York City. It will operate out of a 4,000 sq.ft. facility on W. 31st St. and make deliveries across the city from a fleet of logoed trucks.
The target market is businesses with no in-house foodservice that need catering services for meetings and receptions. 1st and Fresh aready operates in Philadelphia and will open a branch in Chicago after the New York launch is completed. Online grocer FreshDirect started a similar service last year.
