About half of elementary school students in public and private schools in the United States had access to "unhealthy" snacks at school during the 2009-10 academic year, the latest included in a research study published in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, reports CNN. The data shows no change in the availability of cookies, candy and chips in schools over the four years studied—from 2006-07 through 2009-10—the authors say.
