School Hit With $15K Fine for Prohibited Beverage Sales

Davis High school in Salt Lake City was recently fined $15,000 for selling carbonated beverages from its vending machines during lunch hour

Davis High School in Salt Lake City was recently fined $15,000 for selling carbonated beverages from its vending machines during lunch hour, reports local station KTVX. The drinks were sold in the bookstore, not the cafeteria, but because students often take their lunches out of the cafeteria into the hallways, the entire school is considered a "cafeteria" and off limits to working vending machines selling prohibited items. The money for the fine came out of the general school budget.
