District Saves Money by Sharing FSD

West Branch-Rose City Area Schools expects to save over $40,000 this coming school year by sharing its food service director with the nearby Essexville-Hampton Public Schools

West Branch-Rose City Area (MI) Schools expects to save $40,133 this coming school year by sharing its food service director with the nearby Essexville-Hampton Public Schools, reports the Ogemaw County Herald. The district’s foodservice program is managed by Chartwells, and the savings will come from splitting the cost of the company’s foodservice director equally between the two districts. WB-RC’s contract for Chartwells cost about $677,000 last year, with more than $500,000 of that cost coming from food orders, the Herald reports.
