Chicago Schools FS Manager Accused of Accepting Vendor Gifts Resigns

Louise Essian, the embattled Chicago Public Schools food service manager accused of accepting gifts from food vendors, has resigned from her $147,000-a-year job, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. A spokesperson for the school system also indicated that it would be pursuing actions against the vendors involved in the alleged transgressions: Chartwells-Thompson Hospitality and Preferred Meals Systems.
