When You're Really Hungry

The Claim Jumper restaurant chain can claim the distinction of menuing America's most unhealthy entrée, at least according to the theweek.com website. The dish in question, the Beef Back Ribs, sets you back 4,301 calories, which is over twice the 2,000 calories the FDA recommends the typical adult should consume in a day. At no extra charge, the Beef Back Ribs will also kick in 156g of saturated fat (nearly eight time the daily FDA recommendation) and over 7,500 mg of salt (nearly four times FDA's suggested limit).

What's their secret? Portion size! Apparently, Claim Jumper's motto is, if you don't need a lift truck to carry it into the dining room, then it's too small.

It's a formula that has turned even healthy-sounding choices into caloric behemoths. Take the Charbroiled Citrus Chicken Salad. Sounds like something a Paris runway model might have for dinner, right? But at Claim Jumper, that dish is over 2,500 calories, which would feed all the runway models in Paris for a week.

Heck, Burger King's Double Whopper With Cheese is only 990, so if you're dieting, go with the Whopper over the citrus salad.

You can thank us later…
