An Allentown, PA, pizzaria got in trouble recently when one of the cooks was spotted butchering a deer in the back kitchen by a customer, reports the Morning Call. Apparently, venison is not on the menu, so what gives?
Turns out the shop owner had shot the deer earlier and left it in the back area wrapped in plastic for a friend, but the cook saw it and thought it was a new item for the menu, so he started hacking away. e owner called it a misunderstanding and the health department declined to issue a violation.
Still, one wonders: what exactly made the cook think the deer was part of the inventory? ink of it as Sweeney Todd meets Bambi…
