Can tiny Luxembourg beat the big ol' USA at anything? Looks like they can. The data accompanying the chart at this site indicates that the people of this West European micronation are the only ones who eat more meat per capita than Americans — about 137 kg compared to 123 kg for the U.S. in 2007, the latest figures available (Australia is third, a mere .09 kg behind).
So the next time you want to do a high-protein themed dinner, break out the Cuisine of Luxembourg cookbooks…
