Kanye West, superstar rapper and noted awards show critic, had another spasm of self-righteousness recently, according to gossip blogger Janet Charlton. West was scheduled to appear at an all-star benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium last month. Charlton claims he showed up just before he was to go on, saw someone eating a piece of chicken backstage and demanded to know why he wasn't offered some.

When told that he hadn't asked for food, he shot back, “Well, I'm asking now.” A waiter dutifully brought him some chicken, he took one bite, tossed it and left to go onstage.

West also had a famous melt-down a couple weeks earlier at the MTV Video Awards, where he jumped onstage to object to one of the decisions, interrupting the winner's speech. Maybe some chicken would have kept him quiet…
