Churchillian Breakfast
The in-flight breakfast ordered by 79-year-old Winston Churchill on his last trip as British Prime Minister to the United States required two trays, according to the book Einstein's Watch, by Jolyon Fenwick and Marcus Husselby.
One was to have a poached egg, toast, jam, butter, coffee with milk, a jug of cold milk and a small piece of cold chicken or meat. The second would have grapefruit, sugar in a bowl, a glass of orange “squash” (i.e., juice with ice)…and, er, a whiskey and soda and a cigar.
Not exactly what nutrition professional might recommend, but apparently just the right morning fortification when you're battling Nazis and the Labor opposition…
