Hospital Trashes Its Fryers

Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC, says it is poised to become the first hospital in the state, and perhaps the whole Southeast, to get rid of its fryers in its retail cafeteria, reports the Raleigh News & Observer. To prepare the staff for the change, the dining team hosted a free sampling of baked seasoned potato wedges, accompanied by various dipping sauces such as chipotle ketchup and jalapeño ranch, as a sign of things to come for the menu. Rex had already removed fried foods from its patient menus a year earlier.
