Insurance.com has formulated a list of The 10 Most Dangerous Foods to Eat While Driving. It seems to be a mix of the obvious, the questionable and the inscrutible. Here's the list:

1. Coffee
2. Hot soup
3. Tacos
4. Chili
5. Hamburgers
6. Barbecued food
7. Fried chicken
8. Jelly or cream-filled donuts
9. Soft drinks
10 .Chocolate

Our first thought here at Just Desserts was…who the heck eats soup behind the wheel? Ditto chili. Our second thought was, How come crab legs and lobster thermidor didn't make the cut? And what about corn on the cob?

America's car culture has spawned a huge road food industry that spends millions to formulate dishes that are tasty yet practical to eat while driving. We seriously doubt they have considered fried chicken, tacos or barbecue as menu staples for their units. Burgers and donuts, sure, but we'd like to believe that people who eat these staples while driving choose the less messy versions: powdered or sugar donuts instead of those with droopy fillings, and burgers that don't involve too many toppings that can slide out.

As for coffee and soft drinks, who are these guys kidding? You might as well ban playing the radio while driving…
