The Bad Seed?

An Austrian pumpkin seed maker has aroused the wrath of pharmaceutical giant Pfi zer because his company’s blue, glazed, chocolate-covered pumpkin seeds too closely resemble Pfi zer’s popular Viagra, even down to their name, Styriagra.

Richard Mandl told the Austria Press Agency that his product’s name is simply a combination of the Southern Austrian province Styria—known for its pumpkin seed oil—and “agra,” as in “agricultural” or “organic.”

Okay, sure, whatever…

Pfi zer is threatening to sue for trademark infringement but Mandl says he’s not budging. After all, this is not the fi rst time a pumpkin has been turned into a golden carriage to wealth and fame…
