Health Rewards is a wellness incentive program that lets Hallmark employees earn up to $250/points a year, which they can take as cash or as a gift card. The program has been very successful in drawing the active participation of a large percentage of the company’s associates.
To earn points, employees participate in education seminars and webinars offered by the company, undergo preventative care, engage in exercise and/or successfully achieve weight loss.
On the dining front, the in-house dining program has committed to supporting Healthy Rewards by offering healthy menu choices and offering a 25% discount on them, something that constitutes a significant incentive. The cafeteria has a whole Health Works section for these selections.

Dining services also participates in the company’s Health Week program, an annual event when vendors come to campus to provide health screenings, offer educational sessions and promote health/wellness products and services. Dining Services has a booth where it passes out recipes and offers samples of healthful items it will be serving in the café in the near future.
To date, about two-thirds of eligible Hallmarkers have participated—over 5,100 people. The program has distributed 563,000 points (dollars) so far this year.
