Food Management magazine’s annual “Best Concept Awards Competition”

Food Management has sponsored the Best Concept Awards program since 1998 with the goal of recognizing and celebrating the best practices and the most innovative thinking in onsite foodservice. Each year, our editors evaluate well over 100 entries and nominations, judging them on a variety of factors ranging from their creativity to their impact on a given program and their effectiveness in achieving targeted results. Each year’s winners are highlighted in a special issue of the magazine and at our annual conference.

Nominations must be for a program or operation at a noncommercial or onsite operation (no commercial restaurants are eligible). Nominations can come from any source, including other operators, members of a foodservice department, manufacturers, consultants or administrators at an institution.

The deadline for the 2013 competition is March 30, 2013. For more information on the Best Concept Awards program and to obtain a nomination form, fill out the form below.

You can also read about past winners of these awards elsewhere on the Food Management website at FM's Best Concept Awards.

The awards are presented (and the Gold Plate winner announced) at an annual gala event held in Chicago during the National Restaurant Show.

Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence (FAME) Awards

The Foodservice Achievement Management Excellence (FAME) awards program has honored leading foodservice operators from across the Child Nutrition segment since 1989. Sponsored cooperatively by several leading foodservice manufacturers (Tyson Foods Inc., Basic American Foods and Schwan’s Food Service, Inc.), it honors school nutrition professionals who raise industry standards by tackling the complex challenges within their school districts and communities. Each year, the winners are recognized at a special evening event held during the School Nutrition Association’s annual Child Nutrition Industry Conference (CNIC) in January.

Nominations can be made by any interested party, but candidates have to meet the specific criteria outlined in the nomination form.  Nominations can be made either online or via mail in form, with the deadline for the 2013 award nominations on September 26, 2012. The awards will be presented on January 13, 2013 in San Antonio.
