UMass to Spend $69M to Upgrade Campus Dining

The University of Massachusetts at Amherst plans to spend $69 million over the next six years to renovate its dining centers and retail cafes, reports the Massachusetts Daily Collegian. First up will be the $14 million revamping of Hampshire Dining Commons, which will close between January and September 2013.

Other big ticket items in the plan include $15 million to renovate Franklin Dining Commons and $25 million for Worcester Dining Commons. The Auxiliary Enterprises department intends to finance the projects with bond issues and money from its reserve balances.
