Meatless Monday Controversy at Chico State

Supporters of the College of Agriculture at Chico State University turned to the school's Facebook page to express their concerns over a proposed Meatless Monday initiative.

Students, professors and supporters of the College of Agriculture at Chico State University turned to the school's Facebook page to express their concerns over a proposed Meatless Monday initiative, reports the Orion campus paper. Meatless Mondays, a program already adopted at a number of other universities as well as other onsite locations like hospitals and even K-12 school systems, was proposed to Associated Students Dining Services by the Humane Society of the United States. It would require the Sutter Residential Dining Center to provide a completely meat-free menu at one of five food stations on Mondays.

This article is inaccurate - it's not going to be entirely meatless, just adding a few vegan dishes.
