Former BGSU director succeeds Wright-Riva.
Gail Finan, director of dining
Gail Finan, director of dining services at Bowling Green (OH) State University, is leaving to assume the role of director of dining and retail services at Cornell University. She succeeds Coleen Wright-Riva, who left Cornell late last year to run the dining services department at the University of Maryland late last year.
A 1969 graduate of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration, Finan previously served as dining services director at Bryn Mawr College for 18 years. Finan began her career at the University of Pennsylvania, where she started as a dining hall manager before moving up to associate director. At Cornell, she will oversee an operation with revenues in excess of $43 million and one that employees some 400.
“Gail joins Cornell at an important juncture in the life of dining services,” says LeNorman Strong, assistant vice president for student & academic services. “We are planning to launch a master planning study that will guide program and facilities development for the next 25 years following a recently approved 60-year master plan for the University.”
