Bowling Green State University Dining Services and the Campus Sustainability Committee are partnering on an initiative called Project Clean Plate designed to to educate students, faculty and staff about food waste issues, reports the BG News. As part of the effort, student volunteers spread the message by taking shifts at the all-you-can eat dining halls  and talking about the purpose of Project Clean Plate and why people should participate. Since the university doesn’t have a compost program, meaning the food goes into the waste stream, educating students on waste reduction issues was seen as critical to having a more sustainable campus. Dining Services at BGSU is managed by Chartwells.
