Valley Services, Inc., Jackson,-MS, cranked up its production capacity to make and deliver 50,000 shelf-stable meals, as well as bottled drinking water and ice, to the elderly victims of Hurricane Ivan in late September.
Working with state agencies on aging in hard-hit areas to distribute meals to the elderly stranded without power or the ability to prepare food, the company provided approximately 30,000 meals to residents of Mobile, AL, and a combined total of 20,000 meals to residents of Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.
