Working alongside Cura Hospitality executive chefs, residents of Phoebe Ministries' senior living communities in Allentown, Richlandtown, Wernersville and Wyncote, PA, competed in a first-ever Chef's Challenge event. Teams had an hour and a half to complete two plated courses using a secret ingredient.
The team that won the grand prize included four Cura chefs: Prince Micah, Anne Anderson, Andrew Eggert and Darius Murden; plus residents Bud Kuhns, 84, Sara Heintzelman, 83, and Leah Everett, 74. Their entry: Pan Seared Sea Scallops with Acorn Squash Puree, Oven Roasted Swai with Roasted Mushroom Acorn Squash over Couscous and an Acorn Squash Turnover for dessert.
